​We are looking for individuals with exceptional leadership skills and the drive to succeed. Knowledge and someone who understands different types of sports are a plus. The ideal candidate will be capable of developing strong leadership skills, embedding confidence, teaching skills and strategies, monitoring play, and responding to situations. In addition, coaches must be open to teaching problem-solving skills, be passionate about working with youth, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Lead:

  • Reference curriculum to develop & implement drills.
  • Maintain the status of group progression.
  • Manage time appropriately.
  • Guide/delegate tasks for assistant coaches.
  • Use discernment to manage situations that may arise during practice.
  • Interface with school staff, city personnel, & parents.
  • Responsible for all equipment (i.e., balls, cones, markers, etc.).
  • Mentor student-athletes on leadership.
  • Work with students to overcome personal challenges that may impact their performance.

Pure Joy is looking for college and university students to join our team.

Description:
Develop an understanding of several functions within the Sport and Recreation discipline, including program and time management, instruction and coaching, customer service and facilities management. 
Participate in recreational youth programs (school programs, camps, academies, group sessions, etc), coach fundamentals to variety of age groups, distribute marketing material, gain hands-on direct experience working with children.

Nice To Have:
  • Be available entire session that you are applying for. 
  • Be in good shape to help participate in multiple sports.
  • Prior athlete or coaching experience.
  • Ability to work during the daytime and evening hours (depending on the need).

Internships are non-paid and interns are responsible for their own housing.
